RECIPES FOR HOSTING THE PERFECT SPRING COCKTAIL PARTY
CELERY FRENCH 75
You’ll have to break into the wine cellar for some delicious sparkling wine to make this rustic spring cocktail. It takes some effort, but the crisp end result is worth it.
Elements
½ c sugar
½ c water
2 tbs fresh celery leaves, remove enough extra for garnish
¾ c fresh squeezed lemon juice
6 oz gin
1 bottle sparkling wine
Prepare
Ferment sugar and water over medium heat in a small pan. Keep stirring as not to burn the sugar. After all the grain dissolves, take the mixture off the burner and add celery leaves. Leave it out to cool, then strain the drink through a fine-mesh strainer.
Each of the light alcoholic cocktails contains 1 tbs of the cooled syrup, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, and 1/2 oz gin. Shake all your ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker, then pour it into a wine flute. Top it off with sparkling wine.
Garnish your cocktail with sweet, toasted lemon zest or a twist and leftover leaves.
RUM PUNCH
Spring rum cocktails warm you up from the inside out. Fix up a large pitcher of this sweet mixture for a spring garden party, guests, or a day sitting by the pool.
Elements
1 ½ c lightly flavored rum
3 c fresh squeezed orange juice
3 tbs fresh squeezed lime juice
2 tbs cranberry juice
2 tbs grenadine
Prepare
Stir all the ingredients together in a large pitcher with ice. Set out the chilled glasses, so your guests can indulge in this warm spring cocktail.
Garnish with lime zest.
